A ten-yard, Fieldus to Lee, aerial set up the second touchdown scored by Captain Tom Baxley on a one yard plunge.

If NORTH MIAMI , 3 25 PALMETTO, W 0 Tom Baxley scored three touchdowns to lead the Pioneers to their first vic- tory of the season, a 25-0 conquest over inexperienced Palmetto. The game highlighted a tight North Miami defense and potent running game. Baxley returned the opening kickoff 80 yards to the Palmetto five and scored from there on the first scrimmage play. Bill Hughes, the rushing leader, scored on a 12 yard, quarter run. Page Two Hundred Thirty-Four BED RAIDERS .... 33 PIONEERS 13 Edison's Rocketing Red Raiders hand- ed North Miami its fifth straight Orange Bowl defeat on Friday, September 18, as a crowd of 10,612 turned out to see the Pioneer's first Big Ten Came. The first ten minutes of the game spelled doom as Edison made three touchdowns to start their 33-13 victory. Tom Baxley and Chuck Fieldus teamed up to roll in 177 of the 235 total yeard gained for the, not too hap- py, Pioneer squad.
