Club Amistad History has brought many famous Spanish fig- ures throughout the cerlturiesg El Cid, Don Quix- ote, Pancho Villa and many more. But, NM has made it's own Spanish history with the Club Amistad. This group of Espanol speaking stu- dents decided to leave their mark. For Halloween they had a costume party. The members arrived, everyone from Little Bo Peep to Spiderman himself. Everyone was there except Don Quixote. He couldn't make it, so they had to settle for Groucho Marx. While bobbing for apples some drowned and some got waterlog- ged. Then Christmas rolled around as everyone dove for the candy from the pinata. Some got a lot of candy while others got only a handful. Then it was time for the annual springtime ban- quet. The club members spent a lovely evening in the South Pacific, or should we say watching South Pacific at the Country Dinner Playhouse. The group shared many good times together. So let it be written down in history that the Club Amistad was indeed a club of Amistad! 24 Spanish
