He was the Battal- lion Commander of the North Mesquite R.O.T.C. Mark graduated with highest honors and received the Latin Award. Because of her personality, among other attributes, Donna McGowan was chosen to receive the Optimist Award for the 1972-73 school year. At the Awards Assembly on May 23, 1973, she received the Commercial Award and the Yearbook staff Editor's Award. Graduating with honors, Donna received a S100 scholarship from the Mesquite Education Association. ui. - Roger Owens, Stallion defen- sive safety, also captured the 1972- 73 Principal's Award. Roger was named the Defensive player of the year and received the Athletic Award for 1973. His activities in football, track, baseball, and basketball secured him a full scholarship to Oklahoma University. mcfgoaL'sAwafw60'ofvE0',!ofdx Receiving the Principal's Award for her attitude and leadership at NMHS was talented Kim Bardin. Her in- terest in dramatics helped her to capture the leading role, Maria, in the spring musical, The Sound of Music. Kim also received the Dramatic Award. Graduating with high honors, she received a scholar- ship to Oklahoma Baptist University.
