Many laborious but enioyable hours have been spent planning our book. We hope you will derive as much pleasure from it as we have in pre- senting it to you. We hope that in later years glancing through THE VlKlNG will help you recall glorious and treasured memories of the years spent at North. Charlotte, North Carolina . . . Her strength of character and kindness of spirit have inspired and aided our daily living. Unselfish giving of herself, her time and energy, has been her constant attitude in her work among us. She has helped make our school an institution to be proud of. In loving appreciation for her devotion beyond the measure of mere duty, we dedicate to MRS. My Impression Of North Mecklenburg High School Let me say in the beginning that I feel it an honor to have been chosen to act as principal of a school such as North Meck- lenburg High School. It is not only an honor but Cl challenge to be a co-worker with a fine student body, an excellent faculty, and y an outstanding community. I V , 'fl have been very much impressed with the Caliberlofiftddentsegenrolled in North HighgyThefygarefautstanding in attitudes, co- operationjondiywillinlgnesslto work. I am convinced that eachfmember of the faculty has an earnest! clesirelfoncl-is willing to do as much as possible to meet theindividual needs of the students. Things were going smoothly with the Sophomores if the happiness of the officers was any indication Bob Abernathy, President, must have had good news, Other ofticers of the class are Lu Christenbury, Secre tary, Jim Grubbs, Vice-President, and Gerald Bradley, Treasurer. SOPHOMORE The Sophomores had varied opinions about whether they would like North, but after they had been here long enough to become acquainted with one another, they were sure they were part of a student body of which they could be proud. At first it was quite common to hear such statements as, l get lost in these halls, and I won- der where my next class will be. But it wasn't long before new students were adiusted and were taking their places in the activities of-the school. There are many capable workers among the Sophomores, and this should be an outstanding class.
