DEDICATICN Yet he was kind, or if severe in aught, The love he bare to learning was in fault: The village all declared how much he knew: it O Q Q l If 0 Sl 8 .-1nd still they gazed, and still the wonder grew, That one small head rould-1'arry all he knew. To the Seniors of NLRHS Mr. George E. Miller has been Mr. Education himself, because all through their sec- ondary schooling he has been their faithful principal. Throughout his seven years with the North Little Rock Public School System he has earnestly helped to carry the burden of educational responsibility, modestly refusing acknowledgement for himself. Mr. Miller was born in lVilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, where he was graduated from Coughlin High School. He received his Bachelor of Science degree at Pennsylvania State Teachers' College, Bloomburg: and his Master of Arts degree from New York University, New York City. During XVorld War Il, Nlr. Nliller spent two and one- half years overseas as a Captain in the 384th Medical Dis- pensary, United States Army, as administrative officer and registrar. At the end of the war this was the medical unit for the Far East Headquarters at Manila. It is now a part of the U. Army Reserve at Camp Robinson. Nlr. Miller still retains the rank of Captain in the administrative branch. ln September 1948 he became principal of North Little Rock -lunicrr Highf and in l952 he came to Senior High, succeeding Mr. C.
