North Little Roek's completely unpredieri Wildcats had a tough andfxtpaetti season. p ' if l'll., Despite a mggiocre season record of 6-6, ildcats went through their schedule with all the theyfp muster. Al- though the poorly underrated Wildcats plhyed' big-seven conference gmc against El Dorado, they played f their best games and at the oil town Wildcats IB-12. In the Wildcats' first game of the year, they the Subiaco Trojans 20-0.0 The Cats had a lucky break intwhich liigghusky Buddy Voegele picked up a blocked punt and ran over for a touchdown. The Cats held off the Bl theville Chicks, but they yvere defeated when Franky Beard was caught behind the goal for a sifety, 2-0. On the road the week before, the tired Cats met,CarQlden and the hard-hitting Panthers beat the Wildcats I3-7. Next the underdog Cats went to El Dorado where they made a sensational come-back to beat the oil men 18-12. After the Wildcats had that splendid victory, they met the Cy- clones to keep the old ball rolling, and beat them 26-0. Again the Cats went out-of-town to make a marvelous win over the Hot Springs Trojans 40-14 and to ruin their homecomin . The Golden Hurricanes came thundering down out of Elie north to defeat the Wildcats 2l-13. y Pine Bluff came to our fair city to whip the Cats 20-6 with passes. Billy Hooten and Buzzy Duckworth did a wonderful job on defense. The Wildcats then went to Van Buren and beat them 62-6. Bill Rainey led the scoring with three touchdowns. Hard-hitting Tommy Worrell made two touchdowns to keep the Wildcats on top over the Fort Smith Grizzlieg. 38-0. The Wildcats met Texarkana on home ground only to be punish- ed and beaten, but put up a good, and well-spirited fight. The Razorbacks were supposed to be one of the best teams in the state. Buddy Roberts did an excellent job in running butw:.gRuldn't hold the Hogs. Score, 20-7. W y i The Cats made their annual journey across the ejeek Thanksgiv- ing Day to fight the bloody battle wit the Cetitril Bengals.
