ROGER S HM W ,mm 1-was RICHARD C SANDY W KAREN H BARBARA G JOHN w CLASS HISTORY ln September of 1945 twenty one members of our class ventured into our school ready to start a brand new routine Under the kindly guidance of Mrs Mentzer and Mrs Lehman we became adjusted to our new life Second grade was fun although the work became a little harder Many of us formed friendships that were to last throughout our school career Miss Mentzer and Mrs War ner were our capable teachers ln our third year we were Joined by Delores McCave who has an infectious chuckle Mrs Haney guided us through arithmetic and then we were promoted to fourth grade where Miss Lehman helped us immensely Here Richard Brintzenhofe a future star in basketball Peggy Cason destined to become class secretary and Barbara Garrett who has a quiet sense of humor Joined us Mr Steiner and Mrs Griffiths were our patient teachers in fifth grade This year Richard Mellott of the charming smile Betty Coler with her leadership qualities Marilyn Dillon a future cheerleader and Betty Connaughton destined to be editor of the Lima Lite Joined us Now we were upstairs where we were separated again Some went to Mrs Brady s room and the rest to Mr Steiner s Here Roger Schlosser a future football star and Charles Firestone who loves horses entered Our class was growing rapidly At last we were in Junior high lt took us a while to get used to changing classes but it was fun Mr Himes led us safely through this year we finished the second semester with a picnic in Mill Creek Park Nespeca helped us to sponsor several activities that year Freshmen finally the best four years of our school career started now We had a skating party and other class socials Mr Burkholder helped us to start our high school years off right We were Sophomores now guided by Miss Warrick She helped us to have a very successful magazine drive We were Joined by Phyllis Grimm who brought her scho lastrc ability to our class Most of us belonged to extracurricular activities chorus sports band clubs and the school paper In our eleventh year we took up even more activities We sold refreshments at noon during the second semester and at half of the games We also set up a coat check and sponsored record hops after some of the games Don Weedon came in time to help us with the Junior Senior banquet which was a big success Mr DiGregorio was our wonderful teacher that year Seniors' ll This was our busiest most productive year It was our Job to publish the Lima Lite now Under the sponsorship of Mr Fabilli we published the Echo Our play A Date With Judy directed by Mr Kuhlman was very successful Sandra Williamson who had Joined our class from Wichita in time to become the star of the play helped us to sell candy and basketball pencils Finally the end drew near and we attended the wonderful Junior Senior banquet Mr Ward, our sponsor helped us to prepare for Baccalaureate and Commencement We had completed the cycle We shall always look back upon these twelve years as the best years of our lives In eighth grade we were joined by Bob Kuntz of the blond hair and blue eyes.
