ls This Love'P ls Theme Ringing in the new year signifies the end of a long holiday breakg however, this was not the case in 1988. School bells rang on schedule January 4 and 5 as students and faculty got back into their regular schedules. Those bells were not heard, however, for the next four school days as the weather turned to ice and snow. Once the roads cleared, North Lamar students and faculty were back in class, and attention focused on mid-term exams, basketball, and the annual Valentine pageant. Excellence: Ms. Katie Bryant was named Spanish teacher of the year for the state of Texas. Is This Love? Students and Sweethearts enjoy the Valentine dance. -ff-...,,. A chilly December served as a fitting end to 1987. Basketball games took up the majority of the month as girls and boys traveled to such places as Leonard, Prairiland, and Denison. Clubs were having their annual Christmas parties along with food and toy drives. Band members enjoyed a festive awards banquet, and VOE presented an open house. Exchanges of gifts and cards were numerous as students and teachers looked forward to a nice holiday with family and friends. Computing: Jason Tucker, Jennifer Whi- taker, and Jacquejoy Henderson busily finish their assignment. Dedication: Mr. and Mrs. James Dawson intensely watch Varsity basketball game.
