Beta Talent Team Wins Summer of 1987 was enthusiastically greeted by students and teachers alike after yet another challenging school year. The start of summer didn't mean the end of school spirit or excitement, though, as the North Lamar Band traveled to Florida to march at Disney World while enjoying the fun and sun of fabulous Florida. Closer to home, North Lamar Baseball Team defeated Paris High in Regional competition and later traveled to Austin to compete in State. Panthers, however, were defeated by Ft. Worth Brewer 8-1, in the State Semi-Finals. Also competing far away was North Lamar Beta Talent Team who journeyed to Louisville, Kentucky, to bring back first place in national competition. As summer dwindled down to a few precious weeks, North Lamar football and cross country teams toiled out in the hot summer sun along with the band preparing for the upcoming school year. fTopl National Champs: Karol Anthony, Greg McNeece, Amy Foster, Erik Moore, Sally Worley, Brett Johnson, Sonia McCarty, and Toby Deupree perform at National Beta Convention. Snow Cone? Nikki Armstrong makes snow cones while working this summer at Tropical Sno. -L Q ,.,,,,, , ., ,... ,I . l - ' t 2, I -xx How Many More?
