We managed to lose 7 out of the 9 games we played but we put everything we had into all of those games. We gave it our best shot. There were lots of practices with exercises lremember IV Perry's and Mule Train?l, hard work and long hours. lWe'll never forget the time after the P.A. game where Mr. Parrish kept us in the locker room until 2:10 in the morning to talk to us.l As usual, our goal was TO WIN!! Football helps us to mature physically, mentally, and emotionally. We always had the support of the student body and the cheerleaders behind us, which helped to psych us up. The lengthy pep talks from the coaches also made us more ready for the big game again. We wanted to win so bad. The games against Peninsula and Olympic were terrific. We still have it, guys. The Central game was a wet and miserable one. We always managed to make the best of everything, though. We'll miss the senior members, they contributed alot to the team- they showed good character throughout the tough and hard times and played good football. Chris Strickland helped us alot with offense, making the crowd jump to their feet and scream each time he caught one of the long passes. Josh Vandegrift and Trev Sterling were responsible for most of the tackling done and they did a good job, but so did everyone else. Thanks to all thecoaches for the time taken to coach us. We were led by Don Hilse, Scott Rothe, and Tom Jordak, along with Coaches Steve Tucci and Bill Hobaugh. We'll always remember beating Bainbridge 14-O. The team captain was Dan Eisses and the coaches were Jim Harney and Steve Nielsen. The team got off to a bad start but the spark of their tire was there. Their first chance to ignite was during X'lVlas vacation at the Olympic tournment, they beat RA Long and went into the finals, but they were defeated by Enumclaw. The second tire was Peninsula. They had beaten the Viks at our home court and it felt good to return the favor. Then North exploded! It was a Tuesday night game against Bainbridge and the game went back and forth in the first half, but at the end of the third quarter North was ahead to stay. Secure in the knowledge that By Kerri Hescock l'To place in the top four at state is our goal , says coach Stenerson as he highly praises this year's Boys' track team. We're very strong in jumping events-with Brian Hescock and Jamie Zach covering the high jump, and Karl Serwold doing the pole vault. We're also tough in the running events. Running the 400 meter is Tony Johnson, Jace Cutler and Dave Lindquist in sprints, Chris Strickland and Brent Boon the 800, and Craig lVlcKeel, along with Kirk Adams running the 1600 meter. In the field events, John Aitchison ldiscusl and Walter Prindle ljavelinl lead us on to victory as this is the strongest NK has ever been in held events. We expect to do good in the NK Relays and the Seamount Relays. We hope to win the western division and have a 5-O record. We'Il miss this year's seniors, but the rest of us will be back for a better year next year. 196 Boys Track Row 1: Mark Fisher, Karl Serwold, Ted Newton, Troy Stinson, Tony Johnson, Dave Lindquist, Jace Cutler, Ed Clarke, Craig McKeel, Ed Kennedy, Brent Anderson, Paul Brown, Kelly Coady. We're strong in running events, mainly because we have some terrific girls out there running. Evon Eneix, Pam Clark, Kathy lVliller, and Shannon Gruve are showing that they're tough as they run the sprints, and also Diane Fischer, Katie Butler, Kindi Cutler, and Sue Thorne are good sprinters. Kochelle Kingman, Beth Sherrard, Kim Johnson and Jennifer Frazier are going over the hurdles like they're not even there. In the longer runs, Colleen Calvo lwho's an outstanding senior and state championl and Jessica Johnson run the middle distances in excellent form. Upcoming milers and 880 runners are Wendi Clark, Cheryl Gerard, and Linnea Sherrard, who all hold much promise for the future. Corrine Calvo lwho's one of the best miler and two-milers in the statel, Cathy Caley, Sabrina Gibford, Chris Scheindler, and Sally Kaupanger are covering the longer distances very well. Pat Sweeney is a senior who's a good distance runner also. The Relay teams are nearing the school records and hopefully will be the tops at state. In the field events, we are young and inexperienced but Becky Ragsdale turned out to be a pleasant surprise, working with the shot put, discus, and javelin. She's helped out by lVlarie Strickland, Deanna Richardson, Wendy Wheeler, and Becky Robinson. In jumping events, Kochelle Kingman and Shannon Gruve control the high jump whereas Jessica and Janice Watson handle the long jump. Accordingto the coaches, lVlr. Arntz and lVlr. Now what do you see? Prissy French dogs with a pedigree - or a group that looked down on their peers and were always together in the high school years They would dance and wiggle and act so coy Then prance and giggle when around a boy I won't mention names I'll just call them smyth and leave you all to wonder if the Poodles are a myth But if you've never heard of the Poddle clan Then your'e probably a member or a number one fan and as for me I'd rather be alone then prancing around like a poodle clone Cause going with the crowd dQesn't make you cool It just means your'e a puppy in obedience school. Creators's Note: Let it be understood I had no intentions of Nuking the poodIes as individuals. It was all just to poke tun at the phonies that exist in all high school situations. Here is a better slogan in my opin- ion: l'm not copping out, but I hope l'm not too late to say: Don't Nuke the Poodles, just Nuke Hate!
