TENNIS 1980. Tennis, the Viking's only co-ed team, played in a new league using a new format. The team was led by senior veterans, Ed Shultz and Janice Smith. As a junior, Ed was the district's singles champion and captured 4th place at state. Jan- ice has been a member of the varsity team for four years. She is second on the all-time list for most career singles victories by a girl. Led by Ed and Janice, the team finished the season in second place, losing by the narrowest of margins to Gig Harbor. lfigtg Q Meanwhile, the Junior Varsity team completed its first season l with an undefeated record in league play.
