Hill, stressed the idea of school unity and defeating East. Royalty was Queen Gena Peters and King Ron Simms. Our Princesses were Lori Burt, Karen Duvall, Sheri Gordon, and Kathy Haggen. Our Princes were Charlie Brennan, Dave Burt, Pat Gailey, and Kent Kingman. The activities during the week of homecoming were to bring about school spirit. Various dress- up days were aimed to spite East. A few of the ideas were to come in your p.j.'s to show how bored we are with East or to come dressed as the uvictim and how they would look after the game. Other activities were held during the evenings throughout the week. On Tuesday, the senior and junior girls battled in the traditional Powder Pufi' game. The seniors were the victors of this year. The annual Open House was held on Wednesday with a special emphasis on Graduates from 1937 and earlier. This night was also a special tribute to lVliss Ellis for 50 years of teaching here. Before the game, the band, drill team, cheerleaders, and representatives from each class participated in the pre-game parade around the track. During the half-time, These same people plus students who represented all 4 ofthe high schools participated in the traditional half time presentation. North Kitsap is the only school in the area that does attempt to involve all students in a half-time show. Vikings beat the East Knights 25-12. I came from Adelaide, Australia, which I still claim is on top of the world. It is a city of approximately one million people and a comparable climate to San Diego. There we don't walk on our heads or ride kangaroos. lVly stay here has changed me tremendously and without a doubt, for the better. On paper it is hard to express how grateful I am, but limitations aside ... thank you. I am deeply indebted. Someday l'll make like a bommerang, and then I shall return. There have been obstacles, but none to the extent that the student body, faculty, and administration could not present in free discussion and solve by responsible decision. I have observed a growing participation in student affairs. This increase is the product of student leaders and the efforts in the areas of activities and athletics. I have observed an increased awareness of what it means to be a Viking - pride in school and pride in self. The people here at North have made the difference. Best wishes and good fortune to the class of 1978. 66 I hope that the memories contained in this yearbook are pleasan t goals at Nor and lasting ones. That has been one of our th Kitsap High School this year. For Seniors who will no longer be with us, it has been o a pleasure t you the very To the un future and even better have known and worked with you. X, QW--Q At the beginning of the basketball season, one of our team goals was to win the Olympic League Title, in order to get into the State Tournament. Injuries plagued our team at the start. Before we-inished our six Non-League Games we had four girls with sprained ankles and one with a knee injury. llTape was our middle name. The first league games found us with only one girl still recovering. The team depth provided us with a tremendous beginning that resulted in a 14 - O League record, a record that will never even be tied. it tei. ffl 0 etiivil is 'M T T .....,....-- ll-f, F2 VAR ITY RE . 1' ti ...ad x I 4-2.-rf X. ,.., S, Front D.
