Outstanding students in many fields were the recipients of various awards this year. Stu dents with a 3.2 G. P.A. were members of National Honor Society 113: Joe Delk, Eric Prindle. Tony Yount, Mark Haupt, Paul Grasser, Ralph Sawyerg Mark Peterson, Jeff Tengesdal, Curt Browning, Becky Baker, Sue Nicodemus, Gale Pinneog Molly Holt, Debbie Smith, Linda Rasmussen, Jackie Edmonson, Debbie Brown, Mila King, Carol Baleg Susy Chesney, Secretary-Treasurer Nancy Deacon, President Marion Higgins, Loretta Yount, Delores Ciganik, Leslie Zilmer, Ellen Lewis. Music awards included three students chosen for All-State choir: Butch Harwell, Sammi Martin, and Jeff Hamilton. Bill Hunnicutt was selected for All-State orchestra. Becky Baker f3y took part in the Honors Program at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. dur- ing the summer. She also received a S25 scholarship for her excellence in journalism. Betsy DeBoer and Pete Maloney Q45 were North's representatives to Girls' and Boys' State last summer, which was sponsored by The American Legion. Kathy Duncan 151 was chosen to be State Historian for DECA. Linda Rasmussen Q61 was selected for two awards during the year: the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizenship Award and the local Future Homemaker of America Award. Marion Higgins C13 was chosen by the National Council of Teachers of English as one of 800 outstanding students of English in the country. Members of Golden Spear 185, our service organization that worked at all home games, were: Sandy Miller, Karen Pitt, Barb Strathman, Jenna Rasmusseng John Callaway, Janet Peterson, Deane Frazier, Doug Coward, Laurie Caserla Keith Riehl, Mike Pursey, Diane Marinerg Debbie Oas, Secretary-Treasurer Jackie Edmonson, Jeanette Klamke, Mary Duncan, Arlene Pitt, President Linda Rasmussen, Connie Pinter, Sue Witte. 27
