if MUSIC DEPARTMENT Wi' The music department, under the direction of Mr. Sherman, offers training in Band, Orchestra and Instrumental Music. Approximately seventy-five members are enrolled. Activities participated in during the school year were playing at the Armis- tice Day Program in Poulsbo, and several showings at the home football games and assemblies. The Pep Band plays an important part in school life, and is under the direc- tion of Loyd Myrvang. They made many public appearances during the basketball season. Among the members of the group are: Tommy Hammond, Mary Ellen Hindle, Ethelyn Johnson, Jim Soderberg, Calvin Rice, Lewis Larson, Ethel Parcells, Dick Harpel and Carl Jensen. The Purple Clef is the music department's social and service club. Officers for the year are: Tommy Hammond, president, Calvin Rice, vice president, Helen Kuzmich, secretaryftreasurer, and Dorothy Jean Shaffer, editor.
