'FOI' ROW: Cave, Larson, l'ui:h, Ringstarl, Win x BOTTOM ROW: Newberry, Lawrence Purdin, V. Smith Bun Nunn nf BUYS' CLUB CDU CIL aff' With the beginning of the new school year the Boys' Club met to elect officers for the year. Eino Niemi, a Senior, and active in club work, was elected president. Cal Burr, a Sophomore, was to hold the office of vice president, while Jim Winsborough and Bruce Guldjord, both Seniors, took offices as treasurer and secretary respectively. Wes Purdin ably held down the job of program chairman until mid-year when he graduated. Loyd Myrvang then took over. Emery Ringstad and Calvin Rice were Boys' Club representatives. Through the able leadership of these officers and the whole-hearted co- operation of the club the largest scrap drive in the county was held, Another project the club conducted was the collection and buying of Christ- mas gifts for the service men stationed at and confined to the Sand Point Dispensary. We received many letters of appreciation from the men saying we made the holiday seem much more like Christmas as most of them were unable to get home during that time and could not receive gifts from home for various reasons. The rest of the year was spent in school activities. All in all, we can be proud of our work this year. Mr. Sutphin was our advisor the first semester, but was relieved by Mr. New- berry the second semester.
