For the second year our foreign exchange program spon- sored by the American Field Service has proved to be very successful. This success is ascribed to the efforts of the students, teachers, and several businessmen's clubs. This year we have two students that will go home to their countries and be am- bassadors of good will for our country, thus helping to build world peace. Irmgard Hoenger from Solothurn, Switzerland, lived at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Sowder and their, daughters, Kathy and Susan. Speech, physics, American history, advanced alge- bra, A cappella, and Purgold staff constituted a busy schedule for her. Through her many extra-curricular activities she made many friends who will long remember her and the part she played in our school. Foreign Exchange Students Gunnar Arthursson from Reyjavik, Iceland, stayed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Tucker and their son, Leslie. Gun- nar found time for many outside activities, along with his class- es of speech, shop, American history, English, A cappella and radio. Gunnar's eagerness to learn about our way of life will be remembered by his American friends for years to come.
