J Seventh grade was not all that easy! Our seven pre-junior high years were spent with one teacher per year teaching us everything from multiplication to watering plants. Suddenly we were given seven or eight teachers, each specialized in their own subject. This was by far the biggest change. We were forced into getting up with the roosters and the “Today Show’’ rather than “Popeye and Porky.” We even managed to get through the day without our daily “rest-time.” Our earliest days of seventh grade can be described as nothing less than mass confusion. A foreign language of terms were hurled around us: S.E.T., R pass, schedule back, T.S.R., S.S.C.! Our lockers wouldn’t open, we could barely find our way around the 100, 200, and 300 wings, and we acknowledged the fact that we would probably need roller skates in order to make it to our classes in a scant three minutes. But as they say, “Life goes on,” and after a short adjustment period we were able to take advantage of North Junior High’s many fine points. Being united from several elementary schools gave us the chance to make many new friends, and we did manage to learn a bit of Greek mythology and animal behavior (not to mention our own). k' I As we approach our eighth grade year, we finally realize that junior high is much more than we had expected!
