Tres, Pat Kay Director Aubrey J. Bouck Since Since North Junior was built, the band depart- ment has played an importanttpart both in student and city activities. At that time 75 maroon and gold uniforms were purchased, and the advanced band has held its membership to that number until recently when an order of 25 additional suits gave an oppor- tunity to expand our number to lOO. These new members came from the Intermediate group which was added last September to take care of the waiting list from the beginners group. From its beginning, this organization has won acclaim and honor for our school through out Texas by consistantly taking top honors in state and national contests, both marching and concerts, Many of its members were first division soloists in these contest. Several members play in other musical organ- izations ranging up to the Baylor Band, We have band graduates in nearly every band in the state,Many were members of the Armed Forces Bands of World War II.
