I--1 jd 1-jf' wqa A sam 5r E1's f: .,A ',i'f,'rA4 ,M : My 1 V 1' 1-1, ' 'PC-r,,i11f .1 F, .4 . ig TXT' Football when the 1947 Central Texas Junior High School Football Conference Season was over, Coach Gordon H1lley's North Junior Eagles found themselves perched upon the top of the standings In the six games the Eagles played, they scored 158 points to a scant 15 for their opponents, and won all six contests The hardest game of the season was the opener against the Central eleven, played in Temple The Eagles won the game 26 to 15 Then they came back to Waco and walloped East Jr , South Jr and Reagan of Temple, all by a margin of more than four touchdowns After these victories, the Eagles whipped La Vega 14 to O The season was climaxed by a 15 to O win over our traditional rival, West Jr , for the city crown and the Jr High Conference crown Members of the Eagle team were Gene Bowlin Billy Ray Parker, Blake Tucker, Harry Cannon, Tillman Freeman, Jack Cox, D T Leggett, Howard Pharr, John Brown, Leslie White, Weldon O'Neal, Ludie Gilliam, Virgil Owens, Donaldson, Don Osada, 'Charles Laine, Luther Goad, Charles Cilbert, Bill Montge ery, Allen Holladay, Raymond Barron, Charles Nickels, John Slade, Wesley Yarbrough, Bill Patterson Raiford Foster, Henry Rutherford, Kenneth Ryals, Winston Teague, Durway Jaynes, Jimmy Marshall, George Alexander, Horace Dunham, and Myron McDaniel.
