Rockow, J. Shasky, B. Dunbar, H. Wyborny, E. Chuck, coach. Mr. Chuck completed his first season as head coach tor MCJC this year, however, he assisted the Trojans last year under Zeke Hageland. In basketball as in lite, there are ups and downs , and this year for the Trojans was a bit discourag- ing tor the boys C3-l5 win-loss recordl. This sea- son was certainly not the worst in Trojan history, and a determined cadre for next year was over- heard saying wait till next year! 44

Lien, Single Game Point Leader in State 43 Points Against Emmetsburg Mike Lien of the Mason City Trojans scored the highest output in any single game this season for an Iowa Junior College player. The fine guard registered over 418 points for the season and was second only to Grandview's No. 1 scorer, Floyd Taylor Lien s season average was 22 8 per game. o l L MIKE LIEN The Typical Sports Account ot Season The Trojans went down to defeat to Forest City after trailing 51-32 at half-time. The Trojans yielded 99 points, which was the sec- ond night in a row this has hapened. This victory gave the Warriors a 7-5 record in the state junior college standings. The big gun for the winners was Harold Pierce with 32 points in the game. He had 21 points at half time. Mike Lien, the lead- ing scorer for the Trojans this season, came through with 26 points, 20 of which were in the first halt. He played three-quarters of the game before fouling out of action. Earlier this season Mason City was defeat- ed by Waldorf 91-66.
