GRAPHIC ARTS This year we decided it was 1ong past due to change the paint- ings on the wal1s of the hallways. Pictures o-f Earth Wind and Fire, and Sgt . Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band just don't do it -for us. Neither does comical paint- ings of athletes. Studio and Advanced Art students got the job of fixing the wal1s. They took paintings from famous artists and traced them onto the wal1. Then they painted it and gave us the new mural. Students agree it is a definate im- provement . Next year they will finish the other wall. Good job art students.

This is the last year of a three year program cal 1ed Artists in the Schools, taught by artist Ann Mikolowski. In this program gifted art stu- dents have the opportun- ity to work with artists and expand their abilities. The students meet after school on Mondays at Mrs. Mikolowski's studio. There they can experiment and create using anything from charcoal to watercolors, and using everything from wood to pop cans. As a group the students visited the Detroit Institute of the Arts and visited the various art galleries, some of which contained works by Mrs. Mikoloski.

CtlMLCOAl COLLAGES This year's Fine Art Festival was a great suc- cess. The students in studio art which were Ray Koroleski, Becky Kosinski, and Tracy Hyzer; had their own tables and did demon- strations -for the public. Al 1 o-f the works o-f art from students in al 1 art classes were displayed. The best were given awards
