In the fall it's back to school. Everyone looks forward to football, girls' basket- ball and Homecoming. Winter not only brings the Christmas season and a New Year but also volleyball, boys' basketball and of course, snow days! The long awaited spring is the busiest of all sea- sons. Softball, baseball, and track are the main sports events; but how could we think of spring and not think of banquets, the Prom, and graduation. These are just a few of the many events and activities that happen throughout the school year. This yearbook is designed to help preserve the memories through a change of seasons. The excitement of football games and the thrill of the girls’ basketball games really got the fall season off to a good start. It all started August 31, 1981, the first day of school. Excited new freshman and anxious seniors along with the sophomores and juniors started planning their extra-curricular activities. The BOEC Fall Harvest Brunch, Spirit Week, Homecoming, pep assemblies, the list goes on and on of the exciting events that helped to contribute for an exciting beginning. CARTOON CHARACTERS COME TO LIFE AT N. H. H. S. Cartoon characters made up the theme for this year's spirit week and home- coming. The first day everyone was supposed to carry a stuffed cartoon animal with them to their classes. The next day students wore their clothes inside out. The following day, the students designed cartoon signs and spirit tags. Thursday was dress-up day and Friday was blue and gold day , rfa V _ '3- The various school clubs donated prizes for the various contests. 1981 HOMECOMING Spirit week built up to the big night, homecoming. On October l6, 1981, the North Huron Warriors challenged the Deckerville Eagles. Also a new Queen was crowned at halftime. Something new was added to the homecoming tradition this year. The student body, not only voted for a queen but also a king. After the parade was the bonfire and then it was time for the big game. The Warriors gave the Eagles a good fight but fell to defeat by the score of 22-12. At halftime, the float winners were announced. First place went to the Seniors, second place to the Sopho- mores, and third to the Freshmen. After that was the announcing of the king and queen. The girls were escorted by their fathers and the boys were escorted by their mothers. The candidates for the queen were: Mary Navock, Paula Mullen, Teri Damrow, Jamie Koroleski, and Brenda Steinman. The candidates for king were: Scott Iseler, Leonard Iskow, Brian Steinman, Mark Ziel, and Wally Baranski. The 1981 Homecoming King and Queen are Leonard Iskow and Brenda Steinman. After the game, a dance was held in the High School Gymnasium. 74 IS :ANIMATED’ The Court 1st row - Leonard Iskow, Brenda Steinman, Brian Steinman, Mary Navock, Wally Baranski 2nd row - Jamie Koroleski, Teri Damrow 3rd row - Scott Iseler, Paula Mullen, 75 WINTER ACTIVITIES The anticipation of how long the boys basketball season will last, the long awaited snow-days, club Christmas parties, volleyball games, the holiday and the vacation that follows all, tells us that winter is here.
