Stomp'em 5. Stomp'em Poster 6. Varsity 7. Button Sale On October 10, 1980, North Huron High's band lead the Homecoming parade onto the foot- ball field for the game. The mighty Warriors battled against Mayville into triple overtime, but in the end, were defeated with a 20 to 14 loss. The half time show started with a bang as they and the flagline marched onto the field. The procession of the class floats and the queen's float revolved around the field, and the freshman float was 1st place winner. Then came time for the introduction of the queen can- didates. Nancy Kozlowski, Judy Polega, Tami Liedke, Julie Parks, and Tina Goretski were each led onto the field by their fathers. Nancy Kozlowski was crowned as the 1980 Homecoming Queen. After the game a home- coming dance was held in the school auditorium. .. ana and ter (jourt 43 4AtiiU ut Vftxk.. The ini- tials stand for Business Office Education Clubs, and what the organization does is prepare members for bus- iness related activities. Highlights of BOEC included regional, state, and national conventions, officer's training, and several special dinners that were held at local restaurants. BOEC also gives its members a chance to learn to sell various items for fund-raising purposes. OFFICERS FTI Baranski, G. Moore, L. Szymanski, K. Kennedy, T. Talaski, J. Gorkowski, W. Baranski, C. This year, the North Huron Girls' Basketball team ended the season with a 13-6 record. The team came very close in winning the league, but lost one of their last games to Owen-Gage in a close decision. The final game against Caseville was for second place, but again, the Warriors lost in a very close match. The season was a successful one, also lots of fun. Pictured at right are Coach Jack Wallington and his wife, Terry, receiving a plaque from the team during Parents' Nite. Mr. Walling- ton has been the Girls' Varsity Basketball coach at North Huron for two years. Pre- viously, he coached for two years at Port Austin High School. He has been a tremendous help to the girls over the years. A special Thank You to you, Mr. Wallington. 68 (1) 3arb I. scores two as Julie follows for the rebound. (2) Up for the lay-up is Julie P. VARSITY GOES ALL THE WAY TO STATE SEMI-FINALS WE'RE NUMBER ONE was the jubilant cry as the North Huron Warrior Varsity Bas- ketball Tean had a great season. The team had a perfect league record and a 24-3 overall record. They clenched the district title from the Port Hope Blue Stars (49-42) and advanced to regional competition at Frankenmuth. The Warrior team crushed the Flint Holy Rosary Wol- verines (66-41) and became the 1931 Regional Champions, as they defeated second-rated Saginaw St. Mary's Raiders (71-61). The fourth-rated Warriors were on their way to the finals as they struck again against the Allendale Fal- cons (63-61) in an unbelievably close game. Semi-final action was played at the Jenison Fieldhouse, the home of the Michigan State Spartans. The team played first-rated Detroit East Catholic and lost by the score of 76 to 62.
