SECOND ROW George Alpaugh B111 Thompson jim Ovady Dorothy Poe ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION The Student Athletic Association is an organization designed to promote athletics and to uphold and carry out the highest ideals of good sportsmanship and citizenship The council is composed of two chosen representatives from each class who have the athletic interests of the student body in mmd Officers were chosen unammously by the mem bers of the Athletic Council They are as fol lows President Caroline Gares Vice Presi dent, jack Tharp , Secretary, Mary Gares , and Treasurer, Catherine Cozze Permanent fac ulty advisors are Miss Izarek and Mr. Van Arsdale of the Physical Education Department. Membership in the organization is ob- tained through the purchase of athletic books during the year The book entitles the holders admittance to all home games held during the year The proceeds from the student activity books help finance the purchase of the uniforms for the boys and girls One of the problems of the Athletic Association was the construction of the Con stitution to be followed for years to come Meetings are held weekly or whenever necessary to discuss problems and policies which affect the Athletic affairs of the school The Student Athletic Association is in its formative stages but the outlook is for a very strong organization.
