:I 5 PHI! :- eilen To The North Hunterdon Regional Hugh School that we know today was the dream of the hugh spmted pubhc of ten years ago The State Department of Educatlon made a survey of the educatnonal f8Cl1lIlCS m the dxs trlct and ad.v1sed that a school be buxlt Thxs survey was completed m the fall of 1943 The lat Harry VV Moore County Supermtendent appointed a commlttee to es tabhsh bunldmg costs and the operat1on of the school m lteepmg wxth the study and state sur vey Durmg October 1947 the electors ap- proved the formatlon of the reglonal hlgh school dxstrlct comprxsmg elewen mumcxpah ues whlch IS the largest number of govern mental umts of any regxonal dlstrzct m lxew ersey The Board of Education whlch IS com posed of one member from each dlstrxct pur chased fifty acres nn 1948 after the approval of the first budget The bulldmg plans were accepted on February 7 1950 and a S700CDO bond lssue was approx ed The constructxon contracts xx ere sxgned on Aprzl 4th On Aprll 16 1950 groundbreakmg ceremomes were held The school IS a completely tire proofed bulldxng of red brxck it xs trimmed ln white and set ln the center of the fifty acre plot located on Route 30 just south of Clinton Pomt The bulldmg IS equrpped wxth an msxde telephone sy stem and pubhc telephones for stu dents and teachers All celhngs have acoustlc t1le The floors are asphalt tlle nn the halls and classrooms and terrana or t1le floors through out the remamder of the buxldmg Green glass chalk boards are m every classroom The class rooms are pamted m several restful and har momzlng shades The bulldlng was deslgned so mt contams nearly all the physical requlre ments of a modern educatlonal plant and has a student body capacity of approxlmately 600 students A stat? of 25 teachers a guudance dlrec tor school nurse a lxbrarlan and a supervxsmg prmcxpal nere appolnted to admlmster the school program D6dlC8tlOll ceremonies were held o October 21 1951 ln the North Hunterdon Reglonal High School At this tlme a plaque cledlcated to Harry XX Nloore nas presented xx hxch hang 111 the entrance of the school 111 memory of the untlrmg efforts he gawe m estabhshm thxs school LEFT TO RIGHT james A Frazee Wxlbur K Lance Robert M Dunn Charles R.
