As the first practice got underway, only five students showed up. They practiced in the baseball field, and a week later moved to Willis Case for their talents to flour- ish and become more precise. As the golf season passed by, more and more Viking Golfers joined up with the few and proud. The pride and glory of this tiny and mighty team belonged to Danny Medina, who had the lowest net score in the City Tournament. Most of North does not realize that golf is coed. So if you want the time of your life female Vikes, get into the swing of it, and join golf. 203 4 Boys' Tennis The Tennis Team had a good sea- son this year, finishing with a 4-6 record. This left them fifth in league, tied with GW and South. A highlight this year was our victory over GW, the first in our history. This was a very young team with eight returning varsity players. Two outstanding Freshmen were Jacovo Lovato and Mike Deines, who lettered. Number 3 Doubles, Vince Lobato and Otis Williams, along with Gil Martinez and Matt Oliver, Number 4 Doubles, were defeated in the semi- finals of the State Qualifying Dis- trict Tournament.
