These criteria consist of dependability, leadership, service, integrity, and patriotism. By a series of eliminations, one young woman is chosen to represent the women of Colorado. A gold medal is presented to this young lady and to those who receive the honor in representing their schools in recogni- tion of their outstanding attributes. TX 4 A if 5 V r . 7 .bi .',' J 1 -. X7 The course of stage crew offers a study in the theory of staging and the practical applica- tion of lighting, sound, electricity, design, con- struction, and maintenance on the stage. It is a practical course, putting to use the material studied. This class is responsible for the planning and producing of many assembly programs. The membership of this class is selected from students who have applied to the instructor. The most essential characteristics are the willingness to work before or after school as well as eve- nings and lunch periods at any phase of this work and the ability to get along with his fellow students in the exchange of ideas. After a poor first half the first game against East was lost 21-6 by the VIKS. We suffered a true heartbreaker in the second game, losing to East, 20-14, at Manual stadium. The VIKS led all the way into the final 47 seconds in the first South game until South completed three consecutive passes for the touchdown and made the conversion, winning 7-6. The downhearted VIKING eleven lost to South in the second game, 30-0, showing a definite weakness in pass defense. NORTH outplayed a spirited Manual team twice for the VIKINGS' other two victories. The first game was won, 34-6, when Leroy Sterkel was able to run for two long punt returns behind great blocking by his teammates. The second game against Manual was the final game of the season when NORTH defeated the 'BoIts, 27-6. NORTH had several outstanding individual players. Bud Smith and Danny Loos were All-State choices and All-City with our other end, Jim Garramone. Paul Erickson led the city in passing with a total of 32 completions.
