Ei 'ht -Two Teachers Teach Man uhjeets in Eleven Fields Varied courses were offered in North's eleven departments: art, business, foreign language, homemaking, industrial arts, language arts, mathematics, music, science, social studies and physical education. Sixty-five subiects were taught by eighty-two teachers, seven of whom were new this year. Seventy well-equipped classrooms held the eighteen hundred students quite comfortably. North's faculty and office staff, led by the administration, worked together to prepare young people for the future. C. E. Strange Dr. Wesley Lauterbach, vice-principal, had a variety of duties including the handling of disciplinary problems, schedules, enrollment ancl several of the activities. Dean Stucky, assistant principal, also had many responsibilities. Some of his obligations were checking out students, making out pass cards and assigning detention. dministrators La Plans C. E. Strange, principal, served North since 1944. His friendliness and strong dedication to his work showed his great interest in young people. He mastered the administrative prob- lems and assumed the responsibility of attend- ing many extra-curricular activities. Mr. Strange was admired and respected by those vvho were acquainted with him during the past year.
