Dean Stucky is senior counselor. Among his many duties are guidance center planning, which includes. a testing program, social function ar- rangements, senior testing, scholarships, college contacts, vocational guidance clinic, and keeping information on jobs for boys. Miss Anne Andrews, junior counselor, is in charge of assembly programs, the school calendar, information on jobs for girls, social function ap- plications, and the selection of ushers for com- mencement. Miss Anita Mae Wheeler, sophomore counselor, is in charge of student aid such als book rentals, girls' check-outs, and girls' pass cards. She also handles Red Cross, Community Chest, and March of Dimes drives and the servicemen mailing list. Mrs. Leone Lawrence is attendance secretary. Her main responsibility is keeping daily attend- ance records. These are permanent records of the students' three years in high school. When trouble arises about a student's attendance, the secretary has an interview with his parents. Also included in her duties is helping with the special excuses. Counselors handle any service relating to ad- justment of the student to school life. They hold conferences with parents and teachers regarding any phase of a student's program. Counseling is important in planning the stu- dent's course of study, and in checking into the failures each six weeks in order to work out an adjustment which will be beneficial to the student. Counselors keep accumulated record folders and use all other resources to interpret to the faculty, home, and student the necessary information to guide the student toward his fullest development and achievement.
