S Athletics in high school are a great outlet in which students can excel. Not only are sports for the participants, but also for the spectators. Starting in the fall with football games, cross- country meets, volleyball games and girls swimming meets, peo- ple have many activities to at- tend. Continuing through the winter with basketball, boys swimming, and wrestling, stu- dents are able to attend at least one activity a week. Though the spring doesn't have the big events like football and basket- ball games, it does offer many opportunities to watch North Star's perform. Tennis, golf, and track involve many athletes that are often excellent in their field. During the summer, softball and baseball are the only sports, but these also are excellent pro- grams that often have outstand- ing performers. 3
