Thatcher Williams and Tom (the Bull) Durham, the ' Wiz Twins. ' Steve has the spirit! Tacky tourists, Hawaiians and an abundance of twins were found all over North during homecoming week Oct 7-11. Kicking off Spirit Week was ' Twin Day ' in which students dressed alike. The two North students considered the best match for twins were Shannon Taff andWendy Terrall. The mist authenic looking Hawaiian was Bri- an Westfc:ll and the Tackiest tourist was Paul Dewey. Paul Dewey also won the car rally decorating contest to and drove his decorated car in the caravan to Williams Stadium prior to the game against Valley. Other festivities during the week included a nickel and dime contest in which Mr. Jim Da- vis ' homeroom 114 collected the most money. Ms. Foshe ' s homeroom 146 won the poster contest and Mr. Nyman ' s homeroom 138 came in second place. One of the highlights of the week included an assembley in which Principal Dr. Paul Devin received a check for $50,000 from businessman and North High graduate, John Grubb and a check for $1,000 from graduates of the class of 1936, Phyllis McLaughlin and Andy Riggs. The money will be used to set up a fund to help pay for school activities, using only the interest earned and never touching the principle. A big highlight of the assembley was the naming of Homecoming Queen, Lisa Simpson and Mr. Polar Bear, Monty Rundle. The Princesses were (freshmen) Carey Beecham and Betsy Lashley, (sophomore) Amy Garcia and Mi- chelle Van Hoever, (junior) Tracy Hale and Melissa Mullins. The senior court consisted of Jodi Hester, Kathy Lattimer, Phil Glenn and Robbie Bird. 9
