Five men made the All-Metro team. Named to the first team was punter, Shannon White, who averaged 38.7 yards per kick. White also had the leading punt in the city with a 75 yard boot. Rick Flaherty was named first team All-Metro as offensive center. On sec- ond team All-Metro Tim Ferral was named running back; Sid Hill, defensive nose guard; and Urbandale 55 North 0 Hoover 27 North 6 East 56 North 0 Dowling 34 North 14 Ames 37 North 0 Valley 37 North 14 Lincoln 36 North 14 Roosevelt 30 North 0 Grinell 39 North 0 Kevin Garrels, linebacker. Garrels was the second leading tackier in the metro with 120 tackles in 8 games. Pass interception leaders for the team included Monty Rundle and Derek Burton. Defensive standouts included Scott Marnin and Kevin Garrels, while the offensive line mainstays were Rick Flaherty, Joel Cox, Stan Page, and Tim Ferral. Coach Crozier stated, It was a good year and school spirit was much more supportive than ever in the past. 7 A
