r .ungry girls anticipate Pancake Day. Pancake Day A Success Pancake sales this year netted over $1700. Juniors led the sales, sophomores second and seniors third. Proceeds from Pancake Day will help buy sports equipment, sponsor recognition banquets and after game dances, help provide buses for the band, and many other worthwhile projects. Leading in the selling of tickets was Mrs. Baldwin ' s homeroom, and the top honor for individual sales went to David Carter of Homeroom 124. Student Council members sell pancake tickets before school. —18—

Student Council Goal: Make NHS One! A student council ' s main objective is to legislate in a fashion which is representative of the entire school. Active was the word for this year ' s council. The council sponsored a number of activities: Spinster ' s spree. Christmas party for day care children, and Road Runner cartoons. In general, Student Council achiev- ed its goal in unifying the student body. North Hosts Brazilian Exchange Student Our foreign exchange student this year was hAar a Virginia Martins. Her honne is in Bra- zilia, Brazil, and she made her home with Laura Hockett for six months. Virginia, as she preferred to be called, had a full schedule of gym, government, choir, art, speech and drama, and English. Happiness At North High Is . . . ... a successful Spinster ' s Spree. —19—
