Competent Office Staff Aids Students JOYCE HUDGENS The office staff keeps busy working all doy. Steno-Secretory The office staff plays an important part in the smooth functioning of North. Among their jobs are preparing absence lists, keeping records of students, mimeo- graphing materials, doing secretarial work and keeping accounts for the school and clubs. New Counseling Center Added This Year Preparing programs, aiding in the choice of a college, and planning for the future are only a small part of the responsibilities that the counselors assume. North High was very fortunate to receive a new counseling center this past year. With the addition of the new counseling center North added two new counselors and a clerk, who help to assist North students in plan- ning for the future. English Emphasizes Greater Depth in Composition English plays a very important role in our fast moving world. There is a greater need for communication and understanding through the use of English today as never before. This is one of the reasons that English has become a basic part of our educational system. English is a tracked subject so tha students needing special atten- tion will be able to receive it. Advanced students go into greater depth in both reading and compo- sition. Mr. Hanson discusses the art of writing a term paper.
