school life a time to laugh . . . to fiave a friend and discover the art of being a friend to enjoy the activities and spirit of youth. For the students and faculty members, North High School is more than just an institution of learning; it is an integral part of their lives. Shared experiences, laugh- ter, excitement and friendships will always rank among fond memories. The 1967 State Basketball Tournament, and all the excitement, spirit and pep that accompanied it, the pink and green homecoming float which took hours to com- plete and carried a lovely queen, Virginia Palcic, the many after game mixers and hootenanys, assemblies, a successful pancake day, Circus Town, the sixth avenue bridge opening, and the Rev. Spirit And Pep Spirit and pep are driving factors of youth during the high school years. At North High during the 1966-67 school year pep and spirit abounded. The feel- ing was present throughout all phases of school activitiy. In classrooms, extra ac- tivities before and after school, games, and dances the feeling was the essence of North High students. It was a feeling which tied students together during the state tournament time and for all other phases of sports activities. Pre-tournament time saw spirit rise to a feverish pitch. A Mum Day was held prior to the sub-state battle against Roosevelt, and the resulting effort was very successful. Northites supported the school in various ways. Go North pins, state tournament ribbons, T-shirts made especially for the state tournament and a bill board culminated the efforts of many. State tournament time saw all students tied together with much spirit and vi- brance. A fierce pride was displayed at all times even when the North High team lost. Win or lose, all students displayed a fine attitude and respect that charac- terizes good school spirit. Joyce Hota, Jeannine Tucker and Sherri Griffin exhibit the vibrant spirit which wos typical of North High cheerleaders. Pictured below are the rest of the cheerleading squad pictured here at the football bonfire. Left to right: Mary Greaves, Carol Bethel, Karen Keener, Joyce Hata, and Linda Warrick.
