Work-Study Prepares Youth For Future Positions The students attend school part of the day and receive on-the-job training part of the day. In this way they are able to receive a useful education which is immediately applicable to their lives. Girls Prepare For Home Management Since many students get married at a younger age all the time, it is important that girls learn home management during high school years. At North, the kitchens, furnished living room, and sewing ma- chines are excellent facilities for teaching nutrition, food preparation, sewing, child care, home management, home furnish- ing and family relations. After taking courses in homemaking, a girl is not only better prepared to enter a new home life, but also has a good start towards an education, which could lead to a good job in home economics. Deca Combines Class Learning With Work ing Experience After taking a course in salesmanship, DECA students put their knowledge to prac- tice by working in various business estab- lishments during the afternoon. Classes needed for graduation are taken during the morning. The showcases at North provide places for the students to practice displaying products. Being closely supervised by their employer and DE coordinator, the students take part in an excellent learning experi- ence.
