Bookkeeping students are introduced to the fundamentals of our economic system and taught to keep accurate, well-planned records. A course in business correspondence gives students a good review of English usage required in a business career. Other subjects in this area include typing, shorthand, commercial arithmetic, and salesmenship. Commercial geography and commercial law are general educational courses, A semester of commercial geography teaches the student more about areas in the world in which he will come in contact with in everyday reading. Com- mercial law gives a background of the principles and rules of law and makes the student more appreciative of the value of law and order. Notehand is offered to those who plan to enter college. RICHARD EISENLAUER Auto Driving Talen tA fxpl-eAAed in Speech and brama Speech and drama students learn the art of acting and public speaking under the guidance of John Thompson. Drama classes obtain acting experience by presenting plays to study hall students. Those taking speech are given additional background by working as announcers at KDPS. Students in both departments help with the production of the all school plays. Pick up that leg, directs Mr. T. Careful brialing Taught Classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel experience are used by Richard Eisenlauer to teach students how to operate an automobile. The fundamentals of sate driving are taught as well as the operation and maintenance of a car. Required television classes after school also teach students more about being good drivers.
