The Voice behind this phrase has come to exem- plify a person devoted to youth in general, and to North High in particular. Combination father, friend counselor, administrator, and confidante, Mr. Hawk is the best little thing that could have ever happened to North. To the graduating seniors, North High School will always bring back many memories, from struggling through the halls as sophomores, to the leaders of the entire student body as seniors. The members of the yearbook staff, have tried to capture the exciting moments aboard the Viking ship and proudly present to the senior class, the 1963 edition of the Northern Lights.

Alf. Forest Hawk A new addition to North this year is our principal, Mr. Hawk, who does his utmost to make North the finest school in Akron. Although this is his first year at North, he has Won the admiration of the student body. Mr. Earl Bona? This year We have a sophomore coun- selor, Mr. Bonar, who has also been chosen as this year's Cheerleading advisor. He has done an outstanding job by planning assemblies, boosting school spirit besides generally helping out students in need. He has a B.S. and a lVl.S. in Ed. from Akron University and has studied at Kent State University. He spent five years in the Army and Air Force, and was a counselor at Ellet for five years. We give our sincere appreciation for all that Mr. Bonar has done.
