HEADLIGHTS-CLASS OF 52 Graduat1on Day June 4 1952' Th1s IS the day we have all dreamed of yet somet1mes grew t1red of wa1t1ng for It Th1S IS the day we w1ll pass our twelfth m1lestone and re CGIVG our grand award Yes our d1plomas for twelve years of work fun and heartaches As we stand In l1ne wa1t1ng for the first note of Pomp and C1rcumstance we b1te our na1ls and hope no one can hear our knock Ing knees Now we start our last walk down those fam1l1ar ISIES and each footstep echoes an experlence of our past years at North As L1ttle Low 7 s Cwh1ch we were called sometlmes much to our dlsgustj we remem ber the t1mes we would get lost and be late to class shak1ng In fear of be1ng sent to the Off1C6 for we had heard many w1ld tales about our Pr1nc1pal s Pr1vate OTTICG' Our second year at North as e1ghth graders we felt much older for we had begun to take part In the school aCt1V1t16S The boys played Jun1or Hlgh basketball wh1le some of the g1rls cheered for them as Jumor Hlgh cheer leaders There were also clubs and other past1mes to add to our enjoyment and make us feel more at home Then came the n1nth grade Excuse me I mean our Freshman Year Th1s year brought about many exc1t1ng events the electlon of class offlcers Jumor Hlgh Superla t1VeS and last but not least our graduat1on from Jun1or H1gh Look out' Here we come Wlth our swelled heads We were now In our first year of Senlor Hlgh as Sophomores We knew th1s t1tle meant more hard work toward our goal and greatest amb1t1ons but stlll there was t1me for br1ng1ng more honors to our school and ourselves as well as t1me for soc1al aCt1Vlt19S Our Jumor Year a step closer to our twelfth m1lestone Th1s year some of us re C6lV9d 1nv1tat1ons to become members of the Honor Soc1ety There was an electlon of Jun1or Class Ofhcers who took charge of the meet1ngs In wh1ch we planned the Head l1ght of the year the Junlor Sen1or Prom Let us never forget the work It took to carry us Into our last year at North In our Sen1or year we met w1th respons1 b1l1t1es and hard work as well as fun To start the year off Wlth a bang there was the elect1on of Senlor Class OTTICGFS Presldent of Student Body Senlor Superlatlves Football Queen and ROTC Sponsors Later came the Sen1or Formal the electlon of MISS North Hlgh her attendents and Bachelor of Ugl1 ness Wlndlng up the SOC1al act1v1t1es was the 3S1d6 from fun there was a t1me for serlous ness In wh1ch we spent many hours plann1ng Wlth our edltors and POLARIS staff In put t1ng out the 1952 Yearbook Taklng our place on the stage our footsteps fade away Here we look on proudly at our fellow classmates who take the1r places In the program as D A R and C1v1tan Medal1st We s1t a b1t stra1ghter as the Valed1ctor1an de l1vers the Farewell Address The program IS near1ng an end and It 1S t1me for the pres entatlon of the d1plomas The Semor Class r1ses and each one rece1ves hxs dlploma proud ly Taklng our places once agam It becomes hard to finlsh the s1ng1ng of our ALMA MATER for there IS a lump In our throats and our hearts are heavy yet our thoughts go off Into what l1es before us carry1ng Wlth them memor1es we shall never forget ANNE RUTH BINKLEY SHIRLEY HARRISON J EAN WEBB I s v ' 1 1 ' - . - , . . . .
