Math Team + Math Team is a body of high school students who have a high interest in mathematics and competition among other high schools in the state. This team is open to anyone who likes math. The team competes against other high schools in our state. Every week there are two one hour practices from 3:00-4:00 p.m. which are usually held on Mon and Wed. In the city division North’s ranking is 2nd and in the state they are 3rd out of 96 high schools. Mikael Smith scored very well individually, he came in 4th in the city division. The club has been involved in creating a program to aid in scheduling student classes, and in competing in regional computer contest. This Club meets once a week for a school year with Mrs. Halcomb and Mrs. Scott. Once a month they try to take a fieldtrip to various places such as: Honeywell, Omni Theatre, Valley Fair, etc. The participants work on year long projects to compete with each other within the group at the end of the year.  4 IJear to l ememL er National Honor Society National Honor Society is an organization designed to recognize the accomplishments of outstanding students nationwide. Members are registered in the National Archives in Washington D.C. To be accepted into the club, each applicant is evaluated in four areas, leadership, service, character and scholarship. Grammar Club The North High Grammar Club meets twice weekly to find more about how our language works, to have fun while learning and to conduct activities like alerting advertisers who misuse our language. Jay Price, and Geri Williams HLVCIub A large percent of our school consists of students with different cultural and racial backgrounds. This club is designed for American Asian students to help them adapt to the differences in society, language, and, customs, to also help them through school and their classwork. Chung Vang Bottom Row: Teng Lo Finding Your Karass What Kurt Vonnegut intends to do is have people read, enjoy and talk about his books. If you are wondering who Vonnegut is, he is the author of several books such as Slaughterhouse Five, Cat's Cradle, and of course Finding Your Karass. George Roberts met with students out of class to discuss Vonnegut’s books. This is for enjoyment sharing the work of one of America’s most inventive, graspy, greedy fellow. Mike Robbins. ’SCool Club This club ’S cool has questions about Why schools are the way they are?” They met once a week after school and had discussions and interviews with the school board members, teachers, administrators, etc. 'S Cool takes surveys which will lead to designing a model for the opening of next year schools. George Roberts says, Strict attendance is not required, but high interest is required.” 19
