It gave me the opportunity to meet many new friends. I would like to thank my parents and friends who have given me the support and encouragement that I needed to survive the week before coronation. This year's homecoming was the best of all. The students participation was outstanding. The gym was decorated to the max. The students went crazy when all the candidates came Cruizin' in on the antique MGs. The climax of all of the homecoming festivities was the game. For the Polars, it was more like practice. We ran all over the Teddies. Lisa Walton '83 Becoming Homecoming king and playing in the homecoming game, were the two most exciting things that have ever happened to me in the same week - ever! While I was campaigning, I felt all alone - as if nobody knew me. It was really a shock to be voted king. When my best friend Micheal Favor, put the robe on me, I cried. I was so surprised and so happy. But I did not let being Homecoming king go to my head when I stepped out on the field. My fellow teammates made sure of that! The practices the week before the game had not been going well. Many of the players were injured. The team as a whole was not mentally prepared for the game. We got by with a lot of spirit and good coaching. We won, 21 zip. Lawrence Coleman '83 13 I t a.OA' • ° w To a o my toeeuH. Vou area grral group, people. KeepmN 16 2s?r 55 5 . iiji it! Friday morning, 6:01 a m., the alarm clock rings. You lie in bed dazed until you realize it's FRIDAY! You then fly out of bed and head to the shower, so slowly, but surely, begin your day. Finally an hour later you're on your way to school and on the way you start to think about where you could go tonight and with whom you could do it with. You make no decisions on this matter, but you do decide that it's going to be one of the longest days in the history of school. At 7:15 a.m., you arrive in school and see your friends who are also saying how long the day is going to be. The bell rings and everyone heads to class. The hours roll by and go by so slow, but finally lunch has arrived! Everyone sits around the lunch table talking about teachers and grades and all of the sudden lunch is over?! You all look at each other with puzzled faces and take off in the direction of your fifth hour class. Two hours left, will it ever end? Fifth hour drags on for an eternity and finally it's over, one hour left until you can breath fresh air and be free from all the teachers and crowds. You stumble to your sixth hour and twiddle your fingers for the whole hour while staring at the clock and not listening to a word that the teacher says. But, finally, the last minute has arrived (you slowly make your way for the door) and just as the bell is about to ring, you burst out of class and scream, “THE WEEKEND IS FINALLY HERE! 121 Sno' Daze Days of the Week; TUESDAY: Dress-up Day; WEDNESDAY: Bum Day; THURSDAY: 50's Day; FRIDAY: Blue and White and Button Day Gwen Riser won first prize in the bum contest.
