The three languages offered at North are German, Spanish and French. The German department offers a three level course consisting of reading, writing, speaking and cooking German food. Mr. Rueter offers a course called Krauts and Kaisers, a class that explores the culture of German people. Third quarter Spanish students have practiced their cooking ability as well as improving their language skills. Fourteen Spanish students earned enough money for a trip to Spain in the spring. John Broughton Art and Music-They Key to Creativity The Art department will be able to offer many more subjects with the good facilities of the new building. Ceramics, crafts, painting, drawing and metal sculptures are a few examples. The new equipment will give students the opportunity to produce many exciting and original art. The Music department will have two new bands next year, a concert band and a pep band. The band has become more fashionable, thanks to their new uniforms.

The Physical Education Department at North High has a wide variety of classes which enables a student to complete his her required credits in a way that best suits his her ability. Some of the classes offered are golf, bowling, tennis, archery, football, slimnastics, weight training, modern dance and vollyball. The selections change each quarter and different classes are offered, many depending on the weather.
