On Friday, a caravan left north at 6:30 for the traditional pancake breakfast, was stopped temporarily by Henry, but moved on to the uncle John's Pancake House for a hearty breakfast. The auditorium was sparked by performances by the cheerleaders, the Polarettes, the Christian Five, and a great trampoline act by champion John Tobler, a graduate of North High. Later, with music by Willie Walker Pure Dynamite , the dance concluded the day. For the first time in 4 years the polars didn't drown from rain, although we did have a little drizzle. Despite our attempt to reveal Henry's flower power , half time made up for our loss-the floats, the band, and the crowning of our 1972 Homecoming Queen, Debbie Anderson. It's a Title III E.S.E.A.-federally funded program-that if proves successful, it's grant can be renewed for two more years. Eventually it will become incorporated into North High's regular programs and will not depend on any outside funds. The program was designed for one hundred fifteen-year-olds, because at that age there are few alternatives to take: they are not legally old enough to quit school or to hold a job. Students attendance is excellent and they seem to like the program. Activities are going on all the time and is a success keeping the students involved. MIDDLE LEFT: Mr. Neil Beulow LOWER LEFT: David Smith do you always look so enthusiastic? What's going on, was really a big question that was asked in the beginning of the year. That's when the Student Council really started to work for the benefit of the school. With many tasks this year, the student council started doing the job that was expected of them. Starting out with a band up job on Homecoming than going on to Sno-Week and talks of switching Student Councils with a school some 90 miles away. The decisions that were made were made by many people, because again Student Council was open to any interested Student in the school. Under the advise of Neil Beulow, the students did the best possible job to plan activities that were worthwhile and relevant to the people at North. 93 ® I . Sno-week was full of activities. The final day began bright and early at 6:30. Our destination was the International House of Pancakes, where we welcomed a delicious meal. In the afternoon the auditorium, Priscilla Carlson and Mark Clark master of ceremonies, lead the festivities. Ending was the crowning of our 1973 Sno-King Tom Connors. Evening found our Polars had defeated Edison 86 to 64 at the Basketball game. To top the evening off, we turned back the hands of time to a dance of the '50's. When it is time for the five year or fifty year reunion, the Alumni can furnish a complete list of your classmates. North's Alumni can lend you an amount of money to cover the initial cost of printing and mailing literature announcing your reunion, many times they can help you locate members of your class. What can you do for the Alumni? You can send and addresses you might acquire, and name changes from marriages, etc. Just send a card to us in care of North High, and we will sec to it that this is noted on your class list. The 1973 Annual Staff would like to thank all the Alumni patrons who cared enough to make this Annual a reality. 166 Sylvia Sal Peter Cohen Dr. Mrs. Harold Nathanson Class of 1943 Class of 1922 Dorothy Sundberg Annabelle Johnson Harry Marilyn Rovncr Harrison Salisbury Don Sandler Fred Korotkin Robert G Doris (Bartholomew) Olson Mr. Mrs. J.
