Cross country was led by captains Peter Hoag and Dewane Pagel. According to them, it was a hard working team which showed great improvement over the season. The team practiced every day in spite of dogs, cats, and kids throwing rocks. As a result of these many hours of practice, the team placed eighth at the district meet. Dewane Pagel, our number one runner, took tenth place out of one hundred-twenty runners in districts. This proved to be Coach Richard Jacobson's best team in his three years as North’s cross-country coach. RIGHT: Coach Richard Jacobson, FAR RIGHT: Dewane Pagel.
