Frank Robertson. Frank Regguiniti, Ploreen Thomas. T.A.N.S. was a now club this year for the Indian studonts at North. We were one of the first high schools in Minneapolis to have a club with Indian students. T.A.N.S. club advisor was Mr. Barry Blockhawfc. A variety of things hove been done by the T.A.N.S. this year: among them educational field trips, and Indian speakers from colleges. At a panol discussion at Edina, they told in a poem their true feelings of themselves. The T.A.N.S. club bonefits not only the Indian studonts. but the whole school by helping studonts become owaro of thoir identity. Joel Rein, Mike Carter, Rod Doliver. Crews Aide School Providing the technical portion of auditoriums, the Stage Crew learned all aspects of backstoge operations. Lighting, sets and special effects are a few of the main duties of the crew. Mr. Jack Pixley was the advisor. Audio-Visual aides took on one of the more difficult jobs at North. The dub advisor was Mr. Trenholm Hopo. Afro-Amorican Student Society consisted of the Black students at North High School. The purpose of this club was to make students aware of them-se'ves. end the role they should play. j Mr. Hope had speakers come in from different colleges to express to the students how important college is, and the opportunities open for the Black student today. Teaching the student how important it is to relate with his fellowman, was one of he club goals. 23
