‘ftywte Students who take home economics courses are preparing themselves for the role of a homemaker. The cooking student learns meal planning, nutrition and the buying of food. Sewing classes work with styles, patterns and materials. Home management is much easier for a student who has completed a home economics course. Many students plan on entering one of the various trades and becoming skilled carpenters, draftsmen, mechanics or metal workers. North has shops and equipment to give the student a good background for a future job.

Science . , , Science has become the very center of this new atomic world. Every advantage will l e given to the bright young student who shows interest and ability in any scientific field. Scholarships and grants will become increasingly available. North .High School, wishing to continue its high level of scholarship in all fields, is offering outstanding courses in biology, botany, physics and chemistry. 15

'PAytlazi SttcicaUoK The physical education department offers general classes to all students to give them overall well being. They also give the student an opportunity to go on and specialize in one particular area such as tennis, golf or modern dance, for his own satisfaction. 17
