One of the most significant events at North for Mr. Maass and the students was the dedication of the flagpole in memory of North's war dead. It was dedicated on October 14. NORTH'S MOST AROENT athletic fan, Mr. Maass. appears deeply concerned as the North High basketball team fights for the lead. Mr. Maass and Mr. Anway seem to be very concerned over a counseling problem involving a student at North High.

DEDICATED TO MR. HARRY H. MAASS Years of devoted service, capable leadership, never-ending interest in our activities . . . these are only a few of the fine qualities that distinguish Mr. Harry H. Maass as the greatest principal North High School has ever had. He has unselfishly spent his time for the good of our school. It is for these reasons, now upon his retirement, that we dedicate the 1956 Polaris to Mr. Harry H. Maass.

 HIS WAS THE BIG DAY One day last spring the gang on the yearbook staff had to select the theme. Editor Patti called roll and all were present — except for John Harris. “John, where are you?” “Here I am. I was sleeping!” said Jo, from the back room. “O.K. Now that everyone is here — You will pick a theme. So we discussed our ideas.
