Those students interested in the wide fields of radio work now open can take North's special course in Radio Workshop. During the year, students have an opportunity of writing scripts and producing short dramatizations on the local networks. Foreign languages play a necessary role as travel becomes broader in this modern world. North offers courses in Norse, Spanish, German, and Latin in which not only basic grammar, but the fine literature of these countries is taught. HARRIET APEL Spanish, German, Latin PAULINE FARSETH None, Latin CAROLINE HORSCH Spanish LILLIAN JOHNSON English. Class Pljy Radio Workshop MRS. DELLA UNDSTEN Polaris, News Covering beats, writing stories, and meeting deadlines arc only part of the work it takes to pul out the Polaris bi-weekly. The co-operation and faithful hard work of the stall members, plus the extra plugging of Mrs. Della Lindsten, adviser, and the page editors, made this year's Polaris a real credit to North. The Polaris has the distinction of being the only Minneapolis school newspaper to receive the 1948 Medalist Award of Columbia University. New York. 16

Paste them up, send them in, and write the copy was the set code of the 1948 Polaris Annual staff. Arranging picture schedules, mounting and marking the finished pictures, sending them to the engraver and writing the copy were only a part of the detailed work involved in putting out this year’s annual. Thanks to the cooperation of the staff members, Ona Swanson, adviser, Art Segal, of the Bureau of Engraving, and Walter Schmidt, of the Augsburg Publishing House, the 1948 annual is one of which North can l c proud. Thanks should be given also to Mildred Read, art adviser, and Clara Nelson and Chester Saxbv, first semester advisers.
