Deans Our deans, Melvin A. Olsen and Viola Marti, serve as both counselor and friend to every North High student. Miss Marti is in charge of the programming of student schedules and of the equalization of classes; she also aids students in solving employment problems. Mr. Olsen is school ticket manager in addition to his regular advisory duties. Miss Dargay, Mrs. Martin. Miss Dancik, Mis Schmidt. Mrs. Jennings, Mrs. Miller Office Staff The school office may be called the heart of North; the functioning of the entire school depends ujx n its smooth operation. The efficient, helpful staff responsible for seeing that the school business is well taken care of is pictured here.

SUPERINTENDENT W. E. GOSIJN Since ihc fall of 1944, when Willard E. Goslin came from Missouri to take the position of superintendent of the Minneapolis schools, he has done much for the students of North and other city high schools. His constructive policies have raised the standards of our city school system. A new professional spirit prevails and increased public support is evidenced by a new growth of interest in the service of our schools. Within the pages of this Annual you will find memories of those days which you spent with your associates, teachers, and friends. My best wishes go to you. the 535 young people who graduated from this school in the [anuary and June classes. You have chosen for yourselves wonderful ideals: The January Class, The light of our star; the light of our lives ; the June Class, lie compters who compters himself. You have set a good record as portrayed in these pages.
