DEPARTMENT Students in North's Applied Music classes are given the opportunity to learn the rudiments ot music composition for the instrument of their choice. Those who are studying with approved private teachers are eligible to enroll. Their instructor. Mr. Harry W. Ranks, meets with them once a week. Shown with Mr. Ranks in the picture are Shirley Goodman. Lorraine Burstein, Joan Weiss, and Betty Jean Schick. Important in the music life of our school is the A Cappella Choir under the direction of Mr. Roy T. Tenney. One of our most enjoyable memories is that of the choir's singing carols through the halls of North at Christmas time. Besides performing for auditorium programs, they have been featured in a number of radio broadcasts.
